Old-schooling it this time. I've been digging on the latest from Al Green, Randy Newman, Mr. Dylan and the forth-coming David Byrne & Brian Eno project. It's great to see an established artist create new music that doesn't sound like a stretch for them (Willie Nelson's reggae album comes to mind) and create a project that gives a fresh update to their classic sound.
Randy Newman's new album has the humor and pathos he's been known for years. I heard this album performed live on NPR just a few days ago. Randy's not easily digestible. Some don't care for his talk-singing style or his politics. But in his "A Few Words In Defense Of Our Country", he harps on something I noted a few years ago, that why are we color-coding our fear? Isn't the only thing we have to fear, is fear itself? Color my fear teal.
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye.

You're not alone. I'm not watching the Olympics either.
